Started day very restful. Had 2 slices of Trader Joe’s Sprouted Barley bread which I have mistakenly been referring to as Ezekial’s (140)- and some Smart Balance peanut butter. I’m new to the Smart Balance brand and chose it after carefully comparing labels for PB. What I like is compared to others it only has 4 ingredients. I’ve heard repeatedly that the fewer the ingredients in a product the better it is for you – more natural. Smart Balance peanut butter only has peanuts, an oil made from flaxseed and palm fruit, molasses (instead of that bad High fructose corn syrup found in the others) and salt. I probably had 1/2 a serving so that’s (100).
For a wake me up beverage I had an absolutely delicious instant iced mint green tea from Stash. I was searching the tea aisle for instant Yerba Mate and another customer told me I had to try this Stash instant green tea. And she was so right. I’m addicted. It comes in individual packets so you can bring it with you – and pop into a water bottle or in your water at the restaurant. I enjoy it with one packet of Sun Crystals – another new must have item – it’s made from Stevia and real sugar – but only has 5 calories. I’ve been using Stevia for over a year as a sugar substitute, but it’s hard to get jsut the right amount in without it being bitter. The Sun Crystals brand has been a god send. And I encourage anyone looking for a new natural low calorie sweetner to try it. I found mine at Safeway (Von’s).
BREAKFAST TOTAL: 245 delicious calories.
